Antech’s Laser Hair Removal Tips
Antech’s Laser Hair Removal Tips When it’s time to remove unwanted hair for good, laser hair removal is usually the best option. Imagine never having to worry about that hair again! In order to get maximum results from your laser hair removal treatment, follow the tips provided below. You’ll be able to experience faster and better results by following these simple guidelines. Avoid Getting a Tan Make sure that you don’t have a tan when you’re scheduled to receive the laser treatment. This technique can’t be performed on tanned skin because melanin, the brown pigment in skin, is targeted with the laser. When you have a tan it means that the melanin has been exposed to the sun’s ultraviolet rays and makes it more sensitive. If treatment is attempted when the skin is tanned it can make your skin look blotchy and uneven and can even cause blisters and burns. It is best to avoid tanning before the laser treatment and six weeks after it. Shave Before the Treatment Before visiting Antech Hair for your laser removal you should trim or shave the hair as close to the skin surface as possible. This will allow the laser to concentrate its efforts on a shorter hair shaft for better results. The longer the hair, the less effective the treatment will be and there is also more chance of a burn occurring due to a disbursement of the laser’s energy. It is recommended that you shave or trim on the same day of the treatment but do not do any waxing or plucking before the removal. The laser needs to target the melanin or pigment of your skin. If there is no root left there won’t be any pigment left to target. Follow the Treatment Schedule For optimum results body hair should be targeted every 6 to 8 weeks while facial hair requires a treatment every 4 to 6 weeks. Simply put, if you aren’t consistent with the schedule you won’t experience optimum results. Hair Colour The colour of your hair will influence whether laser hair removal is an option for you or not. This type of removal does not work on blonde, grey or white hairs because they don’t contain the brown melanin that the laser targets. As well, if you have red hairs the laser treatment won’t be as effective so electrolysis is usually recommended as an alternative.
